Well, I have finally decided what I am going to be writing my blog about. This blog will be about new fashion designers who have came up with clothes that will knock you on your butt with awe. For the first week, I have chosen Stella McCartney. Stella isn't exactly a new fashion designer, but her clothes are catching on like fire! In my opinion she goes for a quirky girly look. The new line is said to bring you back to your childhood. Mini dresses accompanied with big blazers are also one of the attack modes of fashion for Stella. She has also been working to design evening gowns that are complete with ribbon. The thing about these dresses is that they are not at all as "fu fu" as you would imagine. The blue dress shown would have to be my very favorite new item of Stella's. It has the right mixture of sass combined with the timeless elegance that it projects. The top is a see through fabric, allowing it to have a sexiness to it, but not showing too much. This is a dress that more than the super skinny can pull off. The bottom of the dress is a satin material. This makes for the timeless classic vibe that this dress has. The final two items that make this dress POP would have to be the darker tights and the peep toe boots. The tights make this dress look better because with such a bright blue, you need to tone down the rest of the outfit so that it isn't too much "in your face." I love love love the peep toe boots! This makes the outfit complete. Now we know that peep-toe shoes are coming back in, but very rarely do we see the courage to pair peep toe's with an evening/cocktail dress. What makes the shoes even more enchanting is the fact that they are boots. This is a very interesting combination that is not seen often. In my opinion, it should be paired with a nice dress like this a lot more often! This look is overall hot. I give Stella McCartney an 8 on a 10 point scale. She receives this grade for her courage to mix things that do not normally go together, for the creativity of the dress, and for she SHOES! The one downside to her clothing is the price. Her clothes are very expensive. A simple day dress will cost you about $800. I know your chin just hit the floor, but pick it back up because there are other designers that "mock" her style and sell it for a lot cheaper. Target is a really good place to find good deals on Stella McCartney inspired clothing. If you HAVE to own a Stella McCartney design, here is the link.
Next week, will have a new designer and I will search for one that is more affordable.
PS: Not only does Stella McCartney design dresses and clothing... she also has a shoe line out for Adidas!
